Mentoring should start with your initial instructor but I think there are so many guys now who feel trapped in that position with a desperate longing to get out (for whatever reasons - and yes no one can blame the attitude if the working conditions suck) --- but-- It is very difficult to establish respect of a student if all they see is the apathy We have all had a first hand look of what rubs off on students and how the negative (the world owes me a living attitude) shines through --- not all but certainly too many cases.
So what is the solution and is it achievable -- would each new pilot - the consumer -- be willing to pay an extra 5 grand on top of the existing commercial course to make sure the instructors are paid to a level they deserve. ?????? so any newbees out there wanting to comment ???
