Don!t take a ramp job if you can avoid it unless they will give you some flight time on 1 of the aircraft. Some posters on this site come across like they have never sold their soul to get a flying positoin,1 worked for Bakers, which was shut down by T.C and left alot of bills unpaid for.which was the worst operator in Manitoba, another was chief pilot for P.A aviation who comes across as the best boss there was let I have witnessed how he treated his low time employees.I have also never believed in bonds and in 20 plus years only got burnt a couple times.A handshake is better than any bond.If the company can not afford to train new hires at their cost do you really want to be there? If its not that great of a place to work,do you want to be there. If a company treats their employees they will not leave for a sideway move....and if they are moving up do want to hold the progression.I think not....a handshake a thank you for a job well done should be in order.Sorry for the rant....it's late at night after to many beer.....

Where did you apply, and how did you go about getting your job? I'm a freshie out of flight school with my Commercial/Multi-IFR, and am hoping to find a flying job without first having to spend a ridiculous amount of time on the ramp to get a shot at the right seat.Changes in Latitudes wrote:Dan, I thought the point of the road trip was to find a FLYING job. Keep in the hunt, I think you should be able to find a place that will let you manipulate the controls of an aircraft for money.![]()
I found a flying job with your experience without the ramp gig and I am moderately retarded.
Any help/tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Not much difference between a Wiener and a Whiner. Hooves and lips..that's all you get.
