Not too bad eh? It's the most fun I've had flying in a long time.

Is that done via camera or via software? And how? STL. Loved the picture from your deck, you are very fortunate to have that view.
Re: Pic from a swamper
It's done in camera. Use the "bulb" setting in manual mode (in bulb the shutter will stay open until you turn it off). Compose your shot and put the camera on a tripod, set the aperture to whatever you want - I was using f/8 in this case, ISO 200 - and go listen to your iPod for an hour and a half. Exposing a shot like this is always a bit of a guess, just a matter of trial and error (mostly error). I have noticed that digital cameras don't handle long exposures real well (compared to film), they are real noisy even at a low ISO. Also battery power can be an issue especially if it is cold at all. For a real long exposure like that it helps if there is no moon or ambient light of any kind.

I was a bit slow on the uptake, so he broke it down into a two step process for me.just curious wrote:I presume that MichealP having taught the Level part previously, was now teaching the Straight part of flying.

QEH looks resplendent in her new togs! Not bad for an airplane closing in on 20,000 hours!mr.jinks wrote:

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not after you!

i think mark reid did my float rating in QEH on whitewater lake back in 1994
Re: Pic from a swamper
That is one name I haven't heard of yet!... I'll have to look through the logs.... It would be fantastic to see everyone on avcanada who has flown in QEH or YKA post something here! QEH is close to 20000 hours. there must be a few of you here. In QEH's first log book Mel logged his first hour when she just had about 5hrs since new!. He pokes his nose around here every now and again... If anybody has any thing to pass on to him, i'll make sure he gets the message.

Tell him JPJ is still going strong!mr.jinks wrote:In QEH's first log book Mel logged his first hour when she just had about 5hrs since new!. He pokes his nose around here every now and again... If anybody has any thing to pass on to him, i'll make sure he gets the message.

I never flew QEH but Mel taught my father to fly in the early 60's and his is the first name in my journey log. He logged over 28,000 hours and never dented a plane! I haven't seen him in a few years but we still think of him often.

I will let him know JPJ is still flying. PM me if you want me to pass on names!

Hey 185
Nice shots, well done. I particularly like #3, would be a great long narrow crop. Where were they all taken?
