Missing Thread

Post by hoptwoit »

Did we lose the thread on the engine that would barely run and had big mag drops and why?

Perhaps someone decided they didn't want the evidence hanging around to be read by the TC maintenance inspector and the TSB fatal accident enquiry.

Check and see if the person who posted the thread has been disappeared.

Conspiracy theories? me?

Perhaps the OP and his/her colleagues were embarrassed for having flown an obviously unairworthy plane a bunch of times? Even the title of the thread was 'almost engine failure in flight' or something along those lines. Anyway, it's still kind of odd to see the thread disappear as we haven't got a clue who/where it was (unless I missed something).

Those close to the situation would've recognized it, had they happened to be reading. Then the local rumor mill gets going and makes events sound even worse than they really were. If I'd started a thread like that (I wouldn't) I'd be asking for it to be taken down as soon as I'd gotten the information I was looking for.

The OP stated it was a 172 S That's pretty new by aviation standards, and no floats but why pull the whole thread down. I love being an AME makes me feel like maintenance is a dirty little secret.
