A friend of mine lost her mother in a plane accident about 50 years ago. The accident happened in New Foundland and from what I can gather it was a small single engine charter. All on board were killed. Basic reports that have been filtered down from family members over the years is that the pilot flew into IMC wx conditions which resulted in the accident. We believe it was winter but can't say with any certainty.
My friend would like to read the official accident report, (assuming there is one). She believes that the RCMP and the military were both involved in the initial search. Reportedly, (again from family members over the years), suggested that the plane was not found for quite some time. Don't know if this means days, weeks or months.
Can anyone direct her to a government department or web site where she can begin her search for the official report? She was told there were photos that were eventually taken of the crash scene and she would be very interested in seeing these if they remain on file.
Looking forward to hearing from anyone with information that could be helpful in her quest for answers.

The TSB website will direct you here:

For reports before 1990. I'm sure it's in there somewhere, but your guess is as good as mine. Good luck!
