Grandpa was a Wild Man

Some guy found this 8mm home movie film in his grandfather's stuff after he died apparently. He was a serious wildman - water skiing behind a WACO (?) on water skis made from sneakers screwed to pieces of wood.

I used to fly for a guy in Sitka AK who had a couple Beavers, one of which was in a photo behind the bar at the Pioneer Bar towing water a water skier behind a Beaver on Sitka Sound. Apparently (just to f**k with them) he sent a letter to the FAA in Juneau asking if he needed a special authorization to tow a water skier with the airplane. You can imagine the reply. Turns out of course, that in the US anyway, a floatplane is considered a boat as far as regs are concerned when it's in contact with the water so the FAA could do nothing but fume over that one. He loved f**king with the g-man.

And ..... tried to embed it w/o success, sorry.
