In YPM a last week it was 12c (that's +12 degrees) and these two Navajos landed and put engine tents on. When they left, it was 15c.

It's -2 right now. Maybe these guys just don't have as much faith in the forecast as you do. The weather turned cold after that little heatwave last week. Besides, how do you know they weren't sure they'd depart the next day?

Are we not professionals? Instead of sitting in your seat looking at what everyone else is doing wrong, maybe just maybe why don't you sit back and think about all the things you just did wrong on the last flight(s). This thread has as much professionalism and integrity as the guard dogs on 21.5.

Last Saturday night, late, some assh*le shot off a bear banger and woke the whole marina. Then he fired a shot. Assholes! We are surrounded by them! I have a spare anchor and some chain if he ever does that again.

Tenting at any temperature overnight without a heat sourse is dumb.

I guess you've never seen rock damage in a Twin Otter from running it on the ground. It's possible, it happens and I've seen it. Not so dumb after all.

Watched a guy taxi a Norseman to the far end of the lake and take-off downwind. (Schist Lake, Flin Flon Man.)
Taking off in a light downwind is not so dumb but to taxi for 20 minutes to take-off downwind is dumb.
I did not install the engine tents because it was +22C but did I also did not install engine plugs. When the CP came by, I recieved Special High Intensity Training if you get my drift. So I went to put the intake plugs in and a little birdy had already started a nest. OOPS.

The guy taxiing the Norseman was probably letting the engine temps come up; which is not dumb, unless you want to cause premature engine wear. As for the tents, yes it may be dumb to put them on without a heat source but pilots generally aren't the ones making the rules, and when it's someone else's toy you do as the owner says unless safety is compromised.
