Pay Ranges given on Take Charge site

Post by EastCoast86 »

Hey guys,

Just curious, but are the base pay ranges (Ex: $66-125K for tower) a total compensation number?

Are there any other amounts that would be added to this?

Thanks for any input!

This is quite a long and complicated question to answer. Generally FSS get's paid the least, then Tower, then ACC.

If you go to CATCA.CA and find the Collective agreement you can see a lot of numbers in there. Then you need to search the forums to find out how to interpret some of what it is saying.

Thanks for the quick reply. I took a look at different shift, overtime, weekend premiums. Seems like it would just depend how much overtime was available, but it could add quite a bit to your pay.

In general does the opportunity for much OT exist?

After looking at the collective agreement, a couple more questions:

Does anyone know what the classifications are for various towers? ATC-1, ATC-2 etc

Can you see anywhere what ATC Premium you would be at based on location or how does that work?

Thanks in advance for your input!

Towers, YEG region
YYC ATC 6
YEG ATC 3 - soon to be ATC 4
YBW ATC 3 (I think, might be a 2)
YZF ATC 2
YMM ZVL YXY ATC 1

Premium levels are all over the board, but the busier the airport, the higher the primium in salary (or lower in actual premium number)

Moncton and Fredricton are ATC-2s with OFP $4418, Halifax is a 3 with OFP $5884. The ACC is the same as all the others with OFP $14697.

Not correct. Moncton gets $17500ish, they are on the low end of ACCs, I believe one other gets the same. The remainder get more up to Toronto which gets the highest by a wide margin.

Edited to add: it isn't called OFP anymore, it's ATC Premium.
