You'll note there are positions for both f/os and captains, and neither requires a type rating. I would reccomend anyone interested in a seasonal position to apply, regardless of language ability. If they fail to get enough Canadian pilots applying for the seasonal positions and bring in TFWs, the TFWs are unlikely to be required to meet the language requirements.

So everyone who wants a winter jet job out of Toronto or Montreal: water bombers, crop dusters, instructors, survey, etc: APPLY!

I get tired of saying this but I'll say it again... YES they do hire anglos.... Plenty of them.

Interested in flying for them? Apply no matter what your french level.

I would also suggest that all those type rated 737 guys/gals out there who have a job but feel they are under-employed, to apply. Who knows what offer they may get ?

Does it look like AT will be a seasonal type employer over the medium term.

Last year, Air Transat grounded several wide bodies and provided a 737 type rating to the crews that were freed up by those grounded machines. These were the crews that operated the 8 seasonal aircraft (I was one of them).
Next winter, because Air Transat may have more seasonal aircraft than what they had last year, or because they will ground less wide bodies (or a combination of both), they need to hire seasonal pilots.
I hope they wil not wet-lease foreign aircraft (with their foreign crews) but that they will give jobs to Canadian pilots.

I am currently in a pool at AT, interviewed last month. Hopefully something comes out of this. Anyone in the know of when the courses would start? Also any idea on how big the pool is?

They do, and guys are getting upgraded. We have a "temporary captain" position where you'll fly seasonally as a captain when needed during the peak months.

I'm assuming the following article is for an Air Transat Airbus? It would seem like a good fit for both companies. I don't have access to the article, nor have I seen any information elsewhere to confirm.
