TC Record of Incidents / Accidents

Post by PointyEngine »

Does anyone have any experience with getting a "Certificate of no accidents / incidents issued by the qualified Aeronautical Authority". I emailed TC and they say they do not hold this information? I guess it would be like a drivers abstract?

Many Thanks!

Canada doesn't do that unlike other regulatory authorities. The best you can do is get a letter stating such from your current employer. Most contract agencies will accept that once you explain that Transport Canada doesn't issue that document (unlike the FAA).

Wrong.
When I needed one for a job abroad, Transport Canada told me they do not hold the information, but they refered me to the Transportation Safety Board (TSB) as they do keep the records. You fill in a form and they send you the letter right away. They were very efficient.

Any chance of a link for that?

Call Transport (Young St. Toronto office) and explain what your looking for.
They have provided me with such a letter twice over the last decade.

Hope that helps!

Regards,
TPC

Edited to add: I sent a general query to: CASO-SACO@tc.gc.ca with the subject title "Licence verification request" back in 2011 and had the letter emailed to me a couple of days later with a note that I had no known accidents or violations on file.

Fill in this form and send it to the TSB.
They will then send you the letter within a week (you can request a copy via email if you need it faster).
Check your pm.
