Neighbor Vicky said she doesn’t think it looks that bad, but town code says you can only park a car or a boat in your driveway.
“Where is the limit? If we allow this plane, well somebody else might do something. What’s next a tank — a military tank?” she said. “You have to have limits otherwise let’s face it, people will run amok.”

Nice town and neighbors . Big boats and cars in the driveway are acceptable but not a C 152 ? He has been getting summons also for his ham radio antennas. Hope a sharp lawyer would take his case pro bono and tell them to go pound sand

He seems like a likeable kinda guy!
Sounds like his front door neighbor has an axe to grind with the poor guy...
Shit, if my front door neighbor had a little bug smasher in his driveway, I'd probably head over with a box of suds, patio chairs and "shop talk" with them under a wing in the nice cool shade!
I wonder if AOPA will help him out?
All the best,
TPC

I seriously don't see anything illegal with what he's doing. He didn't fly it there, and he definitely doesn't look dumb enough to fly it out of there... If you can park giant boats outside your house, I don't see an issue here... I can see this guy winning it all the way to the Supreme Court if he has to! Of course, unless if the city decides to make a separate law that specifically prohibits parking airplanes in your driveway.
Pardon my French, but the neighbours are a bunch of Douches!

First world problems for the neighbours. They can park their big-ass boats on their driveway but this guy can't put a tiny Cessna 150 on his. Reminds me of the silly rules you often get with a condo association in the name of preventing total anarchy. Oy...

You wouldn't believe how many people walk over and strike up a conversation when I'm working on my plane with the garage door open.... non aviatiors in a bleeding-heart town notorious for protesting everything.TeePeeCreeper wrote: Shit, if my front door neighbor had a little bug smasher in his driveway, I'd probably head over with a box of suds, patio chairs and "shop talk" with them under a wing in the nice cool shade!
People have tons of stuff in their yards and driveways that look unsightly. How is this worse than one of those monsterous fifth wheels that cast a huge shadow on the neighbouring houses, or huge and gaudily painted wake boats?
Personally, if it were me I'd take the wings off and put it in the garage to protect it from the elements and riff raff.... but its the principle of the thing.
Geez did I say that....? Or just think it....?

He's pretty optimistic about those two little tires, presumably filled with a whopping 40lbs or so of concrete, doing much to hold it down in a potential strong wind..
