Flying into Ft Mac CYMM
I am going to be working on and off in Ft Mac for a couple months and want to communte back and forth from CYQU to CYMM.
I will be flying a C310. How is it for a GA bug smasher to come in and out of there? Is there parking available for short stays? (a week at a time or so)
How about fuel?

Parking is readily available, though if I remember from the last bill it was $50/night. No issues going in and out as a bugsmasher, most of the traffic is guys in Caravans. Fuel is priced as one would think for the avgas, slightly higher than yellowknife.
We can't stop here! This is BAT country!

Not sure about overnights but Handling fees at EFC are now $80 for a quick turn around. I haven't seen a leading fee for awhile but I think those were around $20-30. This is for Navajo.

Call and talk to someone at McMurray aviation. I flew in and out of there for a year on a turnaround in a Comanche 250. Way better deal on avgas and handling but you need to sent it up in advance and not be a dick.
Parking is an issue but there were some grass/gravel tie-downs available for long term lease. The whole place is a confused mess with the expansions and the recent change from city-run to privately run. Keep on trying, call the airport manager, stay patient, and you can work out a reasonable deal. The airport administrators try to help but they don't really seem to know much about GA or how it works.
Try to get a hold of some of the local hanger owners/lessees and they might be able to help as well.
Last I heard (late last year) people were getting double billed for "taxes" from the city on leased tie-downs as well as "lease" payments from the airport.
Good luck!

Might be able to park at McMurray aviation if you call ahead and arrange something. They used to take private guys all the time but with space becoming more of a premium the policy might have changed.
I believe efc are the only guys with a gas left on the field. Universal, last I heard, doesn't have an avgas truck anymore.
