First sign of spring!

Post by JMACK »

Usually I know spring is just around the corner when it's roll up the rim time.

However today I saw this!

Cessna 206/185 Float Pilot (Northwestern Air Lease Ltd.)

They are looking for 2016 float season now!

Good luck All!

Seems like the groundhog is out really early this year, have already been bird dog and dock positions advertised for 2016.

Maybe this global warning thing ain't so bad after all! If you need me I'll be out back fanning my tire fire.

Cheers

Why not? Shows planning-ahead skills. They know they are going to need people and going into the market early might allow them more choosing power rather than leaving it to last moment to pick up whoever is left over. Also nice for guys to know early on they got a job and where.

Everyone benefits.

Planning to far ahead does have a downside. Evening if they find the perfect candidate and a job is offered and accepted does not mean the search is over for that pilot. Another and better offer may come before that season starts.

There is no perfect time to look for next season's float pilots. If you find one pay that pilot what it's worth to you and chances are they will stick around for a season or two. Abuse them and you keep looking. When you find a good pilot pay them extra, they are worth it to you and your customers.
