Is that information actually correct? If so,
1% RRSP matching after 5 years!?

Yes its correct. Pretty useless, but they get to say they have a "retirement plan"200Above wrote:Is that information actually correct? If so,

Georgian has been contacting Linkedin account holders with unsolicited emails offering interviews/employment.
How empty must the application drawer look to have to resort to that tactic? What's next.... TFW?
In a segment of the industry that will be the first to feel the pilot supply shortage, Georgian seems to be struggling to meet its impending pilot staffing needs. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Skyregional is hiring direct entry Capt on the E175. I doubt that Georgian is anybody's first choice if both jobs are available. I also doubt that Capt on medium sized cargo jets looking to move back to the airline environment are interested in flying the CRJ on the terms being offered. As a result, Georgian finds itself with a dearth of qualified applicants at a time when it has made significant commercial commitments to expansion.
So it turns out that the immediate bottleneck is insurable Capt and then it will be a fight for the pool of less experienced pilots to fill the FO seats. Lots of competition for both right now. As I said above, it will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Do you have their email address for applications? I have applied a few times to hr@airgeorgian.ca with 4000 plus hours, mostly BE20 PIC time. Either the email address is incorrect or I don't meet their minimum requirements.

The Offer still stands for all the beer you can drink, if you can prove to me that you are in fact a pilot, with 4000hours.NickyNick wrote:Do you have their email address for applications? Nickle-nick....Georgian HR visits this website...they already know who you are!
Re: Georgian CRJ YYZ
I forgot about this! Well Esp, you just proved that he not only doesn't have 4000 hours, but he's not even a pilot, because every pilot I know would lie, cheat, and make up any amount of BS for unlimited free beer!

Pay info is out of date. What is wrong with Linked-In? Most likely better than AvCanada. The selling point for Georgian is fast upgrades on the CRJ, the PML, direct entry CRJ Capt jobs and of course for the 1900 crowd it is by far the fastest way to AC from a career point of view with the PML. I'd say go to the express partner that offers you a job first as the PML is seniority based. If Sky offers first go there if Jazz go there if GGN go there, that is the bottom line.

Re: Georgian CRJ YYZ
Why is there only one pay level for the RJ, is it a temporary thing till the operation gets up and running ? Or do they only expect 1 yr of service before moving on ?

Re: Georgian CRJ YYZ
Pay conditions as it was explained to the pilot group at the time were set up to compete with Encore. However Encores pay and working conditions have improved quite a bit since then. The company will keep the pay and working conditions the same for as long as they can until the current agreement expires. It's important to note that the pilots at Georgian prior to the 705 operation did not vote for this or support it; the union president at the time went behind the backs of the pilots to agree to a Letter of Understanding which governs 705 flying at Georgian. This LOU is 3.5 pages long, it is almost laughable. Buyer beware.
Re: Georgian CRJ YYZ
Then when will the single RJ payscale change.....when the supply of pilots dries up, or are things in the works now to make improvements to the wawcon ?
With the projected RJ growth for 2016 the planes are arriving but are the crews ?

Re: Georgian CRJ YYZ
I don't have any proof but I swear they are getting guys from overseas to fly the RJ. All kinds of different accents on the radio when I hear GGN flights. No so with other Canadian companies.
DEI = Didn’t Earn It
Re: Georgian CRJ YYZ
There are a bunch of different nationalities at Georgian but they are all Canadian Citizens (naturalized) or permanent residentsInverted2 wrote:I don't have any proof but I swear they are getting guys from overseas to fly the RJ. I work with all kinds of different nationalities. Come fly in NW Ontario, you'll hear multiple Indian accents, French, one Italian guy (I think, couldnt' place the accent but that's my best guess).Inverted2 wrote:I don't have any proof but I swear they are getting guys from overseas to fly the RJ. I work with two French guys, both of whom moved to Canada to do their training and settle here permanently. Just because they have an accent doesn't mean they are here to work a year or two then leave. Many pilots in Canada come from other countries, do their training here then get jobs and end up settling as a resident or citizen.
