wifi internet on airplanes

Post by Murdoch86 »

I am posting this from a Luftansa B-747

I am mid-way across the atlantic...

Luftansa is flying on the information superjetway. This wifi internet or Skynet is cool. Good conection speed (11 mbps, I think that's good for over the ocean) I'm chating with my peeps and checking company mail. I feel like the jetset.

This is the best way to pass a flight in the "back"

Now is only the person infront of me could bring up their seat back, everything would be good:)

Neat, I just came over on Saturday on Air Canada...no internet but the service was excellent even though I was in steerage class.

I am amazed at how full these flights are, I couldn't get business class so was stuck in steerage.

Anyhow A. C. had an excellent back end crew.

The hardest thing about flying is knowing when to say no

After over a half a century of flying no one ever died because of my decision not to fly.

Hi-Fly WiFi is coming to Canada soon. It will be on business jets first.

It's likely satellite to the plane, then they have a small wireless network inside the plane. Shouldn't have problems with a small area like that.

I'll agree wifi isn't the best, but at the commercial level I think it would be pretty good.

I heard Boeing was working on this for their planes, so it can come as a factory option. Is Airbus doing the same thing?
