Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
Because being a bottom of the list NB captain is a crap job. You will be crew skeds whipping boy and quite likely will stay junior for a long time as more senior pilots parachute down in front of you as they become senior enough to hold a good block. You will have crap vacation, crap schedules and likely miss the majority of events you would like to attend. Birthdays, Xmas, NYE etc etc. Unless the reserve rules change dramatically, being junior will not be much fun.

Could be better.
But you have to be pretty high up the list to see much of a difference. All but the very tip few get optimized. All but the top few work the same amount of days.
Vacation, sure, but even that's just a matter of expectation and planning, particularly the way the bid is structured.

Interim bid. Already gone.
Change your handle to “Gaslight”

Interesting part was all of the WB FO vacancies….. something needs to be done about that. No FO on a 777/787/330 should be making less than 66% of year 1 CA rate.

^ More relevant - does that still fall under the flat pay deal?
Everything has an end, except a sausage, which has two!
Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
319. It's not showing new hires anymore, but still extremely junior. 220 as well.

Heard from a colleague that it has been all OTS right now until September, when it'll become all Jazz for the rest of the year. Calls are going out as recently as last week for July courses.
Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
Anyone know how long it is currently taking to find out if you're successful or not in the hiring process? Did my interview and medical, and then got an email for a background check about 4 days later. Haven't heard anything since.
Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
It took roughly 2 months back in 2019. That was my experience.
The old cliché is true. No news is good news.

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
Just curious if anyone heard back outside the timeline they were given during the interview? I'm a few days away from exceeding that and have yet to hear back. Wondering if following up is okay?
Re: The Air Canada OTS thread
I got my phone call just under 2 weeks after the interview. Interviewed earlier this month.Pilot011524 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 30, 2022 1:00 pm Just curious if anyone heard back outside the timeline they were given during the interview? Seems to be kind of random. People at my company got calls back anywhere between 2-8 weeks after interviewing.tbayav8er wrote: ↑Tue Aug 30, 2022 1:43 pmI got my phone call just under 2 weeks after the interview. Yeah. Well like others have said, no news is probably good news. Hope you get an offer soon!Pilot011524 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 30, 2022 2:19 pmSeems to be kind of random. Congrats!
I've heard a rumour that they ask you to print out your online profile with all your exam/tests from TC. Is that true? What other paperwork did you have to take with you to the interview?
