Hi everyone,
I'm about to write my Inrat after a week or so, i appreciate every advice and tip you give me for the preparation, i'm studying and reviewing questions on the sharper edge and the . , i also have the CAP GEN which is really helpful.
Usually those two are adequate. If you are getting 80 on their practice exams you should pass the TC ones.
Biggest advice is RTFQ squared!
Read the F'n question, twice! Read ALL of the answers as well even if you think you've found the correct one, they may be looking for the incorrect, or least correct, or most incorrect one.
If they are still the same, the answers for at least 2 questions can be found in, or deduced from other questions on the test, or in the appendix. Remember any appendices might have plates, charts, definitions etc.
What co-joe said. That, and (like when you do when you go flying) use all your resources. Stuck on a weird abbreviation? Check the abbreviation sheet. Can't figure out how to do an obscure question? Skip it, and come back to it later. Can't remember how to calculate alternate minimums? Ok, that one you kind of have to know... but looking at some of the attached charts and asking "could I use this" may actually prod your brain into remembering!
Oh, and when you're doing practice tests, do them as if you were in the TC exam room. Turn off TV, only allow yourself what TC would give you, etc. If you're getting good marks on them, and you're getting it done on time, you're in a pretty good spot!

If at first you don't succeed, maybe NDB approaches just aren't for you
used it to generate exams and as the other posters mentioned, set your self up just like TC would in a quiet room with no distractions and just focus.
Nice thing with the app is you can choose how many questions at a time, ( I made it 50 questions as thats what the real INRAT is)
And you can choose what content you want. So if you feel your weaker in certain areas you can tweek the exam to have more questions from that area.

Hi Sunfm,
I heard recently about this app on android, i downloaded it, the questions look good and well explained. Did you try it before writing the real INRAT? Was the app much worth it than the manuals?
Thanks
I just wrote it about a week ago...It really wasn't that bad. If you go over the study reference guide you should be fine. There was a lot of questions on reading PIREPs/SIGMETs/AIRMETs/NOTAMs/METARs/TAFs/GFAs so I'd definitely recommend practicing decoding those.
Thx a lot,
I'm using the C.ulhane testing myself but the answers are not really clear even with the ground school course(C.ulhane book)! Dauntless's answers are well explained!
Search up the threads on here where people listed the questions they got. There's a long one... study those questions in depth (not just the answers, but read up on the type of stuff that was asked and go learn it all). Go write.. you'll pass. It's not a hard exam .
Hey guys, thanks To all of you, specially the advice of Co-joe which is RTFQ!!! I passed and got a great mark on the exam, my advice for the rest is to download the app of Dauntless INRAT(found the one on apple richer than the one over android)! The app helped me to practice and answer questions and as i said the answers are well explained, also DO NOT and DO NOT forget the Cap Gen and the current AIM!!!
Now time for the IATRA, if somebody has an idea of where to study or look at?!
Good luck (if need more details about inrat questions inbox me)
