CBT - Introduction to aviation

Post by hip »

Hey guys

I have a question concerning the CBT (introduction to aviation - FSS).

I have been selected to start the FSS formation on December the 12th. Since I was working full time until now, I have not been able to advance as much as I would have liked.

Thus I have a little bit less than 3 weeks to complete the course. Any of you had that kind of time before starting the formation? Any advice?

Thanks a lot!

I've definitely heard of people who have had that much time or less to prepare. And if you are now off work and focusing full time on the ITA, you will be fine.

It's also possible (but not guaranteed, you can check with your instructors) that you will have some in-class time devoted to studying the ITA. I know in some cases recently where course offers went out a bit later than expected, the first week or two of in-class time was fully focused on ITA study (so that's even more time to prepare).

In addition, I believe the FSS ITA is less in-depth than the ATC one and the test itself is different too. Again, check this out on your own, but from what I was informed by the FSS students on course at the same time as us, the FSS ITA was 50 multiple choice questions, versus the ATC one which was much longer and had different types of formats.

Anyway, the only advice I can give is to just go over the material over and over until you know it inside and out and you'll be fine!

Pretty much what chobs said. Study as much as you can, but don't stress yourself over it. If you study for 30-40 hours a week prior to the start of course you'll have nothing to worry about.

We had someone who received his course offer 3 days prior to starting and he passed the ITA. However, the more prepared you are going into the course the better you'll look!
