That would probably be minimum at best for most operators/FTU, they would probably want some experience (like everything).
TC offers a course at CYYZ, check out the website
http://www.tc.gc.ca
It's horrible to navigate otherwise I would have looked it up for you.

Eh Ramp...best thing to do is take the course offered by York University, go to this site, tells you all about it, did this course...little pricey but got me a job in the end. Little shake up in the Disaptch world as well, Skyservice is looking for 2 maybe 3 and Zoom Airlines has just hired as well...look into some smaller operators that might not need the certificate and get some experience that way...Good luck....

another thing, aerocourse is only a weekend thing, you memorize the material and spit it out come exam time, this York course teaches you what you need to know...interviews for the airlines require you to write a written exam during the interview stage, be prepared....

From the website linked above
...Most of the above material is available through AeroCourse,
please call 1-800-461-8857 to enquire.
Course details
Eight days, 0900 to 1700
Aerocourse's IFR and IATRA/ATPL courses are weekenders but the dispatch one is anything but that. I have no idea which one is better as I have not done either. Aerocourse definately has a solid reputation across the country and does it 8 days straight. On Yorks website it appeares they split up the two weeks (oct 24 - 28 and nov 14 - 18) so if you don't live near the campus it would really add a fair chunk to the cost.

There's a name I haven't heard in a long time. Glad to hear he still carries his great reputation!
York University Course

I've taken the York University dispatch course with Dario. He's a great instructor and knows his stuff. I would highly recommend taking the course. It may seem expensive, but it pretty much guarantees you a job once you have your exams done. The best thing about the course is meeting contacts which can be much more valuable in the end than just learning the material. He also gives you a lot of insight and practical examples of what you would really be doing as a dispatcher.
Although I knew most of the material because of my aviation background, I still found the course beneficial for these reasons. If you want to dispatch as a career, I highly recommend the course. If you want to dispatch to get your foot in the door to a company to fly, just study and write the exams. There's a study quide much like the PPL, CPL, etc. off TC's website.
Cheers
