CAT 1 Medical

Post by 06echo »

Hey. Does anybody know how long Transport Canada process Category 1 medicals? I've been looking online for information but haven't found anything. It's been 6 weeks since my medical and haven't heard anything from them.

If it was a renewal, you won't get a sticker for your sticker book. The stamp is all you need. If it was an initial, that is still a bit recent to be worried. I would give them a call at the 60 day mark and ask if it is being processed. All you need to do is ask for an update, and have your license number ready.

Hi, thanks for the info. It's my first medical. I don't have a license yet or anything aviation related document for that matter as I'm just starting out. Also I realized I need my medical certificate to do my english test, both of which are requirements for school I need ASAP. I really do hope I get it soon.

If you already have the booklet with a class 3, I've seen it take up to 75 days to get the class 1 sticker

Hi,

I just received my cat 1 in exactly 23 days, they issued it on 18th of May; gave my medical on 1st May. Hope that helps!

Unfortunately, I still didn't receive anything. It's been 8 weeks now. I'm gonna wait a few more weeks then might just give them a call if it doesn't show up anytime soon.

Lucky! T_T It's been 8 weeks since I did my medical and still haven't gotten anything. I'm starting to wonder if there was something wrong with it or something.

I don't have anything yet. It's my very first medical so I'm not really sure what to expect.

If it's been more than 75 days, I'd suggest giving the local TC office a shout.. Oh wait, they removed all those phone numbers! But I'm sure a little Googling of "Transport Canada <Insert location>" will help

Call the office related to your region from the numbers below, I called this morning, and they were able to answer my question.

I recommend you call around 9:10 - 10:00 - as they are more likely to answer the phone. I have tried calling other times and only received a voicemail.

The wait time is 6 weeks, you're well past that. For initial applicants, the CAME cannot recommend "FIT" , but only "Deferred" - the RAMO may request additional information for initial applicants. They do this by sending YOU and the CAME a letter. Now if either of you missed that letter, TC may still be waiting on a certain document.

I need to track down 8 year old documents about a mild concussion. No idea where to start.

Good luck!
