It's written in a Tom Wolfe/Norman Mailer style and after a few pages I thought I was reading fiction, but a search reveals Jerry Foster is a real guy who was quite famous in the southwestern USA.
His own book, "Earthbound Misfit" might be worth a read. He's quite a character. Thank you, CL-Skadoo!, for posting the link.
