Single vs. Multi IFR Rating

I have been researching some training programs and many offer either a single or multi IFR rating. In terms of employment from a single IFR program would I be better off trying to find employment or getting the Multi-IFR first? I know this is different for many and no two people have the exact same path, but does anyone have any experience or knowledge they could share?

Thanks

Just get the multi IFR... unless you want to retire on a PC12

In the short term, M-IFR gives you a much larger potential job pool - the difference in price between the two is probably "only" about $2k if you do it efficiently, which considering you've paid for your CPL already... I think it's well worth it.

The Group 1 does cost more, but it's so much more worth it for the jobs that become available to you.

The general opinion is to get the multi-IFR. After reading the responses I went on the "jobs" page and learned pretty quick how valuable it is.

Thank you all for your responses.

Thanks flyingjerry

Hey, definitely not.. I'd love to fly one. It's just there's really nothing to upgrade onto.
