I love how the people on CNN are telling us what the people onboard are doing. They just mentioned that this wasn't a high level emergency !
They really need to get someone on the phone who knows what they're talking about :/
" Your not going to have any braking on the right side "
NO SHIT....He doesn't even have a rolling wheel !
Best of luck to the crew and Pax

Sometimes I think it's a shame when I get feelin' better when I'm feelin no pain.

Actually as a commentator she did very well. Correcting the CNN people, when they said it was the first flight the a/c had made EVER.+VE R8 wrote:That calls for a stiff drink! You have to love that G5 instructor, she was very humble after the landing saying that was her doing in the training dept
Some accurate details given on test flights on a/c systems espically mentioning "weight on wheels" systems like spoilers and emphasiss on redundancy and possible crew actions like briefing the landing.
After the Landing she compemented the crew and Gulfstream. She didnt take personal credit as you suggest.
In all it was alot better than some airport yokel or student pilot that the media would have gladly taked to.
My only beef was everytime the CNN anchor refered to the pilot and what "him or her" was thinking what is so politically uncorrect about saying flight crew or captain? him or her - give me a freaking break

She wasn't bad, but she wasn't that great of a commentator either. With all her GV time she suggest" It could be pilot error as most problems are pilot error". While that maybe correct in some situations, gear retraction/extention problems are rarely pilot error. She then says" That they may have left the gear pins in, and that maybe the problem". News flash gear will not retract with pins left in. She then goes on to say that she has friends flying for Nike and wants to find out if they were flying. The CNN reporter asked if she does know them can she arrange an interview for CNN with them and she says sure.
I can see how +VE R8 came to that point. The reporter from CNN stated to commentator that they did a great job landing and that she may have trained that crew, and she says "I may have, I have trained lots of GV pilots." Gee wiz don't hurt your arm patting your self on the back!
With all that said you are correct Edo she was better then some student pilot that CTV used for Air France.
Rectum, damn near killed 'em
