Although most of you probably already know, Air Transat is in the process of recruiting First Officers for their YYZ base. I received the link from a buddy of mine. I've posted the particulars of the position in the jobs forum, for those interested.

Cheers, and a very happy and safe holiday season to all and their loved ones.

CR :)

The funny thing is, I have a couple of buddies flying for them and their french is very limited, and I do mean limited. Bonjour, bienvenue abord, a la prochain, thats about all they know, but they still get by.

Just the kind of attitude we're looking for in our first officers...

Apply anyway! Always try for what you want, not what you think you can qualify for. I got a job in Quebec once with no French - take lessons! If Steven Harper can do it, so can you.

Thats the spirit xsbank. Those who really want the job bad enough will do what they have to do to be considered. Even if it means having to take french classes. I'm bilingual, but I always jump at the opportunity to improve myself.

Cheers

Transat is one of the few 705 passenger/international airlines that are still treating their staff by a first name basis rather than a number. It would be an honor to be employed by them and I have had many great friendships from when I worked there in the 90's.

Please don't let the language thing deter you from applying.

Ahhh! Don't worry Zatopec... I guess some people are wayyyyyy above others and will never be in need of help or a job!

Does anybody know what the schedule is like at Transat?

How many days off a month?

Lots of overnights?

Thanks a bunch!

Minimum is 11 days off a month, if you hold a reserve block you get 12 days off a month.

As far as overnights....well we fly wide body long haul aircraft and serve some 30 cities in Europe so good chance if you are junior you will be away a fair amount during the year, don't forget all the southern flying also.

If you want more info just let me know.

Sky I didn't intent this to be a "taken seriously" comment, I was just showing my lack of knowledge when it comes to the french language. Being born in Montreal I only wish I had been able to learn to speak french before we moved away.
