Re: New collective agreement
The laid off pilot group haven’t heard a single word from their MEC. All they do is copy past the COO email without any further plan on what action they will do for the pilots THEY represent.
Looks like they secured their spot and salary and now don’t care about the pilots on the street. Well done guys. SMH.

Re: New collective agreement
What is the effective date of the layoffs?
Have any pilots that were not issued layoff notice been downgraded?
Have the provisions of the new collective agreement been followed for layoffs and downgrades?
How is pilot scheduling being managed for April? May?
Thx.

Re: New collective agreement
It would appear that at least one member of the SKV MEC "played" SKV flight operation management with the old TOE rules in order to protect their "position & seat" at the expense of numerous pilots that where more senior by "date of hire" through the first round of layoffs. There always seems to be one "rotten apple" in the basket but Karma can be a cruel mistress.

this statement is 100%correct.Loon-A-Tic wrote: ↑Thu Apr 09, 2020 11:24 am It would appear that at least one member of the SKV MEC "played" SKV flight operation management with the old TOE rules in order to protect their "position & seat" at the expense of numerous pilots that where more senior by "date of hire" through the first round of layoffs. apparently now they just want to keep 60 pilots on property: how come you lay off more pilots when government is willing to help? if these guys can't do their job maybe ALPA canada could do it.
Re: New collective agreement
Were the old rules still valid or not? Not sure why a guy is being a rotten apple by trying to enfoce valid rules.Loon-A-Tic wrote: ↑Thu Apr 09, 2020 11:24 am It would appear that at least one member of the SKV MEC "played" SKV flight operation management with the old TOE rules in order to protect their "position & seat" at the expense of numerous pilots that where more senior by "date of hire" through the first round of layoffs. If the rules were not valid anymore, why did management agree to it?
As an AvCanada discussion grows longer:
-the probability of 'entitlement' being mentioned, approaches 1
-one will be accused of using bad airmanship

Re: New collective agreement
The old rules where "enforced" for direct personal gain, not a cool move by Le Presidente for one of his first "acts of office". The flight operations management of SKV was very willing to "embrace" the intended spirit of the new rules; it would have served the greater good but for one person, guess who !!!
A "draft" LOU was agreed on to address the situation but at the final hour Le Presidente declined to act in the best interests of all, save for one !!!

Re: New collective agreement
Old rules? New rules? Intended spirit? Either you have a collective agreement or you don’t. Supposedly, SKV has one.
Layoff sequence may soon be moot if 60 goes to zero. That is where GGN staffing would be if they were still around for this crisis.
Highly unlikely that the future Express fleet will look the same as it did 2 months ago. Too many aircraft chasing too few customers. No v-shaped recovery. Owned aircraft are the cheapest to park. After that, expiring leases. Then, negotiated early returns. And then possibly exiting a fleet type.
AC owns 10% of CHR. Doubtful that CHR will come out on the short end of the stick. Also possible that some advanced discussions will happen between CHR and AC about the future.
Hope for the best. Plan for the worst. Everybody is affected.
Good luck.

Re: New collective agreement
I don’t want to sound too negative but SkyRegional going the opposite to what many airlines are doing through accessing the wage subsidy, could be indicating the end of the company is near: And organized way to wind down operations, through slowly laying off the current work force.
Just an idea.

Re: New collective agreement
Sky confirmed they hire everyone back on a volountary basis effective April 12, how about Jazz?
Re: New collective agreement
Same, they are giving the option, if you want to have the government CERB instead. 1st year FO might take home more on CERB instead of 75% minus deductions, benefits split to be determined.the-minister31 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 14, 2020 6:30 amSky confirmed they hire everyone back on a volountary basis effective April 12, how about Jazz?
