Why would the government buy an airline that doesn't even fly it's own routes? Or own half the planes they fly?

AC most likely. I look forward to you all being my FO.

I'm very curious as to whom the potential buyer is? Any entity has to be bold to make an investment in this pandemic environment, then again the acquisition price will unlikely be lower.

Low value acquisition.....CHR stock has taken a beating.

Maybe Sell all the aircraft, probably fire all employees then hire all new employees, outsource the maintenance and or flying contracts, and make a cheap Dollar. Could be a move by WJ to eliminate the competition.

It is not Westjet, I would bet all my CHR shares on that one.

Maybe ... but I’ve seen it before. Buy the company, fold it up, fire the employees rip the company logos off and have the same aircraft flying the same routes with your crew on it within three weeks.

Or, buy the company, cannibalize it and eliminate the competition.... seen that one too.

Or, fold up the company fire the unionized employees and outsource the flying..

Anonymous forum but I’ve gone through it! I’ve seen it in mining too. But as you said, “ ( I’m) an idiot if I think that’s how it works.” So my experience is of no consequence...

How do you foresee this playing out?

Right. I see no major changes for any of the employee's at Jazz. It may not even be Jazz that these people want. Or maybe it is Air Canada, and that is all they want. Who knows. But most of the employees are unionized. The pilots have it written in their contract that only we can do the flying as contracted by Jazz, or any company owned by Chorus, or Chorus affiliate or...

And in the end, Chorus may decide not to sell, or recommend against it.

Whatever happens, it will be this time next year before all the details are ironed out.

So.........I have a friend who works in the finance dept. at AC HQ in YUL.......He has dropped one of his napkins today at my house and I saw some notes about the preparation of a second airline acquisition that is roughly the cost of the money saved on the transaction to acquire AT. Roughly 530 million $. CHR market cap is roughly 515 million $.........
