Wow. They must have exited at a high speed, if you look at how far they went into the snow.

Any rumours on what caused it?

As an AvCanada discussion grows longer:
-the probability of 'entitlement' being mentioned, approaches 1
-one will be accused of using bad airmanship

TSB only reporting it now......

C-FAFS, an ATR-42-300 operated by Calm Air, was operating flight CAV464 from Rankin Inlet
(CYRT), NU to Naujaat (CYUT), NU with 3 crew members onboard. During the landing on Runway
34 at CYUT, directional control was lost and the aircraft experienced a runway side excursion on
the east side of the runway. The aircraft came to rest approximately 44 meters from the runway
edge. The captain suffered serious injuries. The aircraft sustained substantial damage. The TSB is
investigating.

Thanks,

No reason given for the delay in the daily reporting.

The captain suffered serious injuries.

The have a scrap in the cockpit after this. I am not sure how the captain got hurt. The pictures don't show any damage to the fuselage by the cockpit.
