Hey everyone!
Just looking for some insight or to make some connections with individuals who have flown abroad and may have some advice to give as I'm looking to move out of country. I've been looking for operators in Africa or Asia (preferably smaller charter companies). I do have experience in Northern Canada flying and bush flying, but with the state of where we're at it's starting to seem like time to make a transition into a different scene.

Thanks in advance - looking forward to any and all input!

I'd suggest, given this quote from elsewhere in the forum:
More than half of the world’s airline pilots are no longer flying for a living amid the plunge in demand during the coronavirus pandemic, according to a new survey, and those that are still flying feel less valued by their employers.
that sadly, the answer would be a resounding "No!"

Susi Air might like you if you want to work for 600 usd/month.

Maybe nowadays that's what you have to pay instead of what they pay you though.

Regarding Africa: if you call a 'company' that has an ad online, and they answer the phone, it's probably a scam.

Only success stories I've heard there is if you physically go visit the operators. Exception to that if you have airline time and are going there via a management company. For bush stuff you have to visit.

Probably not, I had a job offer in Mozambique last March and the Visa was pulled before I even travelled, I do however have a fancy stamp in my passport.

Pretty much what I'm assuming. Thought maybe there would be a few people on AvCanada with some inside contacts from past jobs I could reach out to for info just in case :)

I've taken a peek at Susi, they aren't hiring online at least. I may give them a call just in case. I have the requirements that they ask for after all. No harm, in checking it out

I'm currently in SE Asia, been here sing 2018 when airlines here were plucking fresh out of school newbs, I was one of them. Obviously recruitments are dwindled to a non-existence even here right after the covid. A guy i know was going to Vietnam for ATR contract before pandemic, but didn't make it there at all.
Every employee at the company i work for is on a reduced salary since March of last year, barely scraping the bottom atm. I've thought about getting into a diff line of work, maybe after going back to a college. It's just hard to be in the industry currently, Im looking forward to the day that I can make a proper living out of this career. :?
