Hi everyone,
I am trying to get an idea of what to expect of the NAV section of the glider TC exam. Surely when it comes to gliders there has to be differences (although the study guide is very similar to the airplane one), just wondering if TC actually asks to plot a nav with no engine, or if they use a powered airplane regardless. Any answer would help.
Cheers.

Re: Glider TC exam (navigation)
This is going back a loooong time, but I don't remember any navigation questions on the GPL exam at all. I certainly don't remember doing anything close to the nav calculations expected when writing the PPAER. My memory is fuzzy, but I'm almost certain it's an extremely light section. You don't need nav calculations in a glider until you start doing cross countries, and that's a whole other level of training and experience.
It was 25 years ago for me though, and I'm just now taking to the skies again in gliders, so take this with a grain of salt.

I will dance the sky on laughter-silvered wings.
