My MP is a liberal. Literally a waste of internet bandwidth writing my MP about getting airlines flying.

If I cared — I certainly don’t — I’d email my MP to tell the government to lay heavy fines on airlines that continue to cancel flights and refuse to refund passengers.

I wrote my Liberal MP (waste of bandwidth, as someone else here said). They sent me back a cookie cutter e-mail of all the "great things" Justin and the government is doing. It was the most impersonal "PFO" letter I've ever received, and I was a member of the Trondheim Chess Club, as an extrovert.

Let me remind you that the next Ontario election is on or before June 2, 2022 (less than 11 months), and the federal Liberal party is already sending out election ads as well.

What is glaringly offside with our “federal” government is that people need to go searching for their local representatives. I have a clown liberal Geoff (goof) Regan. The sooner people realize that politicians.. of any leaning or influence… are just snake oil salesman, the better.

Really… you reach your MP, have a personal audience with him, tell him your concerns, and he tells you that he will work tirelessly to fix them. Would you believe it for one second?

You meet him again after he did nothing and he’ll explain that it was out of his hands or he had a more pressing issue or he had to tow the party line or something unexpected came along. He’ll shake your hand, give you the shame shit eating grin that they all do, and wish you the best of luck and that he’s “keeping up the good fight” and that “exciting things are coming down the pipe”

Unless you have a lot of money, or a lot of influence, they do not care about you. That conservative candidate will promise you to fix all of the damage the liberals have done to this industry, and vote for cabotage and TFWs without even a second thought after a fortnight.

And the sooner you figure that out, the sooner you can put politics completely out of your mind and go with the flow. We literally have no choice in Canada. Democracy only consists of voting incumbents out so they don’t become dictators, that’s all.

100% correct. The current CPC lot are yelling at the Liberals for what the CPC did while they were in office. If the Liberals loose this coming stand off, in Opposition they will yell at the CPC for the same thing they(Liberals) did when they had power. Exactly. Burning of churches is 100% a hate crime. Imagine someone burning down mosques or synagogues. They would lose their s*it. I say that as an atheist that couldn't give two f***s about religion. If we are however going to play the "hate crime" game, we better be fair with everyone.

The Catholic church has done some heinous things throughout its long history, such as the Spanish Inquisition, suppressing scientific advancement and ideas (look up Jordano Bruno), residential schools, telling an HIV invested Africa that "condoms are bad", sex abuse of young boys, etc. ... and the list goes on... it's a long one!

I shed no tears for the Catholic Church, but if we're going to play the "political correctness game" that the NDP and Liberals are so horny about, let's play it fair!

If you actually look at what Communist China is:

A tiny wealthy elite.

A large indentured population.

A paranoid police state.

Little regard for the environment, sustainability.

And an economy based on selling things for cheap.

It describes conservative policies and actions almost to a tee.

How soon people forget the G8 summit and burka bans and extraordinary renditions… things that seem harmless because people think they are excluded, but would have set very dangerous precedents should a government with different leanings get into power.
