It will be interesting to see how the E175 training will be scheduled, lots of initials...
From now until the end of the year is recurrent, requalification, and on type upgrade training only for the E175.
As mentioned above, initial E175 type training will not commence until February 2022 at the soonest. The majority of the E175 awards are type rated already due freezes and what pilots bid for.
My guess is approximately 1/3rd of the awards will require an E175 initial type course. But that is just a guess.

Lots of dash guys got awarded the E175, many of them as DEC slots. Training will be interesting for sure.

Is it possible they will start initial sooner if they get the approval from TC in december?
More complicated than that. That is why Vacancy Bulletin did not show any E175 Effective Dates commencing prior to February 2022.
All E175 return-to-work pilots are getting requalified on the E175, even if they did not hold it in the bid award. On type E175 upgrades are happening even if that will not be the final position for many of those pilots.
AC wants the 25 E175 staffed as soon as possible. Best way to accomplish that in the near term is requalification of type rated pilots. Quite a few of these pilots will eventually be replaced and released to their own new type training by the E175 initial type trained pilots between March and August of 2022. It will be a metered process.

There were pilots from sky who did not hold a PPC yet. Those would have to be trained before those that are tranfering from other equipment I presume. Will they have a training date or bevtrained before feb when they get the initial?

They will be handled same as Jazz pilots hired but not yet PPC’d prior to COVID layoff. They will only be trained in their awarded position. That may be sooner if awarded position is E175 FO.

So if they stay E75 FO as they are right now, they will be trained as soon as the initial is approved? Or will they be given a training date in the bid?

Every pilot that was inactive due COVID will show an Effective Date in their awarded position. And if they require an initial course or upgrade training, they will also show a Training Month.
There is no Jazz TC approved E175 course. And it is not expected to be in place this year. This slim cohort of pilots will be sitting until there is an approved course.

It is all explained in LOU55.
A pilot that is not ‘qualified’ on the E175 will not be managed as if qualified. No initial PPC completed means not qualified.
E175 ‘qualified’ pilots may be returned to the E175 at company discretion notwithstanding the results of the equipment bid in order to accommodate near term increases in E175 flying.
All other recalled pilots will be trained in order of seniority with bypass pay provisions for out-of-seniority training.

With all of the above considered, 50% chance of ots ground schools for next summer or less?… sorry to always be “that guy” on this forum..
Next summer would be my bet. Interviews and all in the spring for a july or august GS.
