Flair Hiring B737 FO's

We're hiring again. Our application portal is now open for B737 FO's for a variety of bases across Canada. Course dates beginning in February and ongoing throughout 2022.

I tried to apply but I don't have an ATPL, so wasn't able to finish the online application. Is this a hard requirement or will Flair consider 600 hours, 400 of which in high density IFR on turbine/jet aircraft?

Respectfully, the site clearly mentions ATPL as a prerequisite to apply. Hard requirement.

Realistically, what are the chances of a 703 Captain with an ATPL, 2600h, close to 1,000h multi-turbine PIC in different types but 0 jet time to get a call?
Are they finally going to start looking at people who didn't fly for Emirates/Etihad and don't have 7,000h PIC on a 777/A380? :?:

I'm genuinely asking.
I don't get why they'd start posting for F/O's if they already have a pool of hundreds of candidates that have thousands of hours on a widebody jet...

I can see flair hiring a 2-3000 hour 704 captain that has all the hours requirement but never sent application to TC.
But realistically, 600 hours probably isn’t going to cut it

Flair and Cargojet will only hire 7000 hr Emirates and etihad folk, and when those chaps get recalled back to the ME, they’ll hire us 😂

I’d imagine with the expansion they have planned they would be looking for people that can be quickly upgraded and 703 cpts don’t fit that profile at the moment.

So, ain't nobody getting a recall at Etihad. Period.
As far as Emirates? It'a culling process and recalls to Emirates are targeting those who would go back to FIRST year pay with reduced allowances such as schooling and housing. After 15 to 20 years service there. If a pilot was out of work and not on the list of "hundreds" (as reported above) at Flair then MAYBE they'd take a recall. A straw poll taken of the "hundreds" working at Flair says that no, they're not leaving. Not in the numbers you hope they will at least.
Flair has reported in various media that they will double in size in 2022 and the actual numbers of pilots would be 150 or more to be hired. There are not that many ex EK/EY or Cathay pilots on the market. Do the math and apply.

Yes but then under the options for current license they have TC atpl, Faa atpl, faa cpl, icao other, easa, jaa etc just not canadian cpl so….

In terms of base, how does it work? Do you get assigned to a ramdom base or they offer you a base with your hiring agreement?

Here is the UNIFOR Agreement that ran until June 2021. Not sure if it was renewed/extended prior to the ALPA representation result in August.

An ATPL is a minimum requirement and in the current environment successful candidates have well over 5000 hours total time and most have previous jet experience.

In our October courses, most pilots have well over 10 000 hours TT. We anticipate that will reduce in 2022 courses and later in the hiring next year we'll begin to look at more turboprop only candidates with lower TT in the 3000+ range

After the offer letter has been signed and returned you'll be assigned a seniority number drawn at random with the union a few weeks prior to your class. A link to a standing bid is included with your offer where you can bid for desired bases. Base assignments are then awarded in order of seniority in the class. Not all bases may be available for bid depending on crewing requirements.

Currently, new-hire pilots are able to bid on YXX, YEG, YOW, YKF and YYZ. There will be ongoing base and position bids throughout 2022 as we introduce more aircraft. Those bases and positions are available to current pilots and new hires will be offered base and positions that aren't filled internally.

People who applied - has anyone heard back yet and been invited for an interview?
I am just wondering if they keep the application window open for a given amount of time and then go through the applicants or whether its a rolling process.
I applied 2 weeks ago and have not heard back so far.

I applied 2 weeks ago and have not heard back so far.
The recruiting portal will remain open for the foreseeable future and be a rolling process. We'll be interviewing approximately 30 pilots a month for the next year or more. The recruiting team will be in contact eventually but depending on how competitive your application is it may take awhile.
