I posted this question in an older thread. Should have used this one!

Are there plans to look at a YWG base and expand service out of YWG at any time in the future?

YWG is under consideration as a base but no timeline or guarantee. It will almost certainly see an increase in service as we expand the fleet.

How about a YHZ base? (Asking for an Expat friend)

YHZ will almost certainly be a base at some point over the next couple of years depending on schedule and aircraft deliveries.

So for the next 4-5 years we can expect bases in :

YEG
YYC
YUL
YHZ
(YWG)

That seems lot of bases? Are those, same bases as Lynx?

That’s how low cost airlines work, lots of bases and few or no layovers. Just look at Ryanair in Europe.

YEG already exists. YUL opens in July, the rest are unconfirmed.

It believe it may also give them an edge in attracting and retaining pilots when they're eventually in demand again.

There will be a lot of bases available with lower cost of living and/or better climates than the existing major hubs. No commuting and few overnights are very appealing to some.

Tentative and theoretical except YEG (existing) and YUL which is planned for July.

And yes, a lot of bases which eliminate or reduce overnights which is part of the plan on reducing costs and keeping fares low.

I have no idea what Lynx is planning other than YYC.

This is taken from the Flair CBA posted on the Government of Canada CBA website at https://negotech.labour.gc.ca/eng/agree ... 11201a.pdf

For some reason, the Captain pay scale isn't presented in the document.

That is an old contract. Wages have gone up. The most recent Unifor contract is free for anyone to view online. But there will be an even newer cba with ALPA eventually.

What is the website where can you find the newer CBA?

Thanks. Anyone know what the upgrade times are? Trying to weigh whether its worth a jump from Jazz left seat or go to AC once they eventually start hiring.

Upgrade times for pilots who meet the DEC requirements are currently under 3 months. Those hired later this summer will be closer to 8 months.

5000 Hours Total Time
2000 Hours 705 multi-engine Jet
500 Hours of 705 multi-engine Jet Pilot-In-Command

If you don't meet those requirements then you need 4000TT and one recurrent PPC before being able to bid an upgrade.
