As TC suspended the covid vaccine requirement for travelers and regulated transportation employees in June 2022, it is never required to enter the US as a crew member on duty. Is the proof of vaccination still needed for employment at Flair? Is there a way to waive it?

Thx!
Vaccination issues remain for pilots conducting training in the USA or Seneca college (cabin trainer) who must be vaccinated or subject to quarantine. It creates quite a few issues during training events.

All unvaccinated pilots on LOA have returned to Flair (there weren't many) so we are working around that. We continue to prefer hiring pilots that have been vaccinated until all restrictions are removed including training. We may consider individual waivers for highly experienced pilots but it will be tightly controlled.

Junior pilots are typically getting 13-15 days off per month. Mostly 2 legs per day out and back, though there are several 4 leg days between YLW, YEG, YXX/YVR.

15-18 Single day turns a month? That's a ton of flying. I'm guessing after about 12 you're into OT, so most of the roster is over 85 hrs? (Or whatever the threshold is.)

Guess again. It depends on your base. Yyz for example has many unproductive pairings that are min credit (4 hrs) and if you’re holding a junior block that’s 18 days/month. If you’re holding reserve that’s 18 days/month as well. And there’s plenty of reserve at the moment. Available monthly block hours for yyz pilots have been steadily declining over the last number of months. Most likely shoulder season scheduling but December will be telling.

RIP if you have less than 4,000 hours :/

It’s been like that for a few weeks, on Flair website the hiring link for first officer position is still available.

Whether PCC says a place is hiring or not, I'm not sure I'd trust anything on their site to be entirely accurate anyways. It's always best to go to that company's hiring page and look for the ad.

Apply for an FO position at Swoop, Sunwing, Lynx, Porter, CargoJet, Canada Jetlines* or Morningstar if you want immediate employment. Apparently Flair is placing you in a Pool and will only call once you reach 2000+ hours.

The audacity of some of these people. Like the other crybaby whining that Jazz isn’t returning his call because he has less than 750 hours.

In twenty years time when your kids ask how you got into flying you want to be able to say "work and determination" not "I just kept taking money from your grandparents for type ratings until someone was stupid enough to give me a job"

Not if all you can hold is YXX-YYC turns, or YYZ-YQM turns. Them be less than 4 hours credit.

I’m still waiting for an interview. Just sharing my opinion cuz someone said FO link was gone on PCC. So they are better off applying elsewhere
