Yes Bug I've heard of this scam of an airservice up in the Yukon. I think I even may know the young aviatrix you are talking about who got suckered in to the 185 "flight seeing" position.
Seems like a lot to handle (the bitchy model and the model bitch).

Hello Darcy,
I regret sending this lady here. I thought it was to be the greatest job for her. I found out too late after losing my money, my time and my pride. At least she did 50 hours PIC on a gorgeous 180 in a gorgeous land. Is there a better place to learn about float flying than Yukon? Would be so great if the bitch wasn't there to spoil it...
KJ is only 25 and she is doing fine at this time, on her way toward her IFR rating. She is by now studying the hold entries, not even knowing the short-cut of turning toward the fix being the simplest way and just fly the pattern! Please don't tell her yet if you know! I want her to use her brains before the short cuts. LOL
I will always remember her helping me out on a difficult VFR flight in IMC. Without her I would have been all over the place all morning, big time. She did a wonderful job, our single turbine floatplane was safe at all times, never higher than 200 ft.
Tish will never know about that and we don't care. We had a wonderful time and KJ is a fantastic pilot.

Ya not many in this industry have had the string of luck that the girl mentioned by Rudder Bug has had. Operator after operator promising the world and delievering shit.
I've known her for years and have also worked and flown with her and I am willing to give my name as a reference and I don't usually give out references for anybody.
Any operators out there looking for a good lower time pilot/employee.
PM me
Later

Stay as far away from the previously mentioned outfit unless you:
1.You enjoy low pay for some positions that carry a fair bit of responsibility...CP, PRM...but don't worry, the ops manager will never be around(he'll be in Switzerland)
2.You enjoy spending your days off in the bush because somebody is too cheap to ferry the airplane home
3.Digging ditches and landscaping(in a mosquito infested swamp) turns your crank more than flying
4.Office politics that you would have to see to believe
5.Babysitting the shareholders when they show up in the summer to play with their "toy"
just for a start

We used to call this outfit the SWISS ARMY.
When I was there they had the Cessna 185 with the crazy float paint and a Cessna 172 that would go roaring up and down the lake burning off fuel before it got airborne.
Magdrop Jr. your handle makes me laugh! Use to have the odd beer with Magdrop and Ace (and the locals) at the 98. Good times!
