Delhi
Looking at FlightRadar24 this evening and didn’t know AC flew to Delhi out of YYZ. Long flight gotta be close to 14 hrs back to YYZ, would it be be a couple of days layover in Delhi. Must be an interesting city for sure.

As long as you don't eat or drink anything there, you'll be fine.

Re: Delhi
Must take flight crews a few days to get back to some type of normality upon return home even with lay over time and on board rest(RP). Couple of those trips per month and you are probably done?

Re: Delhi
The food is fabulous if you go to the right places. Just don't eat the street food
But yes Old Fella. Delhi is definitely "interesting".

In the 90s I had a neighbour who flew the 767 at AC. I seem to remember he’d bid one Delhi turn and one Halifax turn each month and be upset for the next three weeks that he had to work an hour over the minimum.

Re: Delhi
Along with Dubai, Delhi, Tel Aviv and Istanbul are on the AC list. Any favorites amongst the lot to those '87 guys/gals who do the driving. Then again after a few trips does it become just another few long days at work.
Re: Delhi
Not that I want to make this an " back in my day" thread...but "back in my day", when I was a youngun', we did 14 day pairings to India and Singapore. The pairing was:
YYZ-LHR (2 DAY LAYOVER)
LHR-BOM (2 DAY LAYOVER)
DEL-SIN (1 DAY LAYOVER)
SIN-BOM (2 DAY LAYOVER)
BOM-LHR (2 DAY LAYOVER)
LHR-YYZ
Later the Bombays got changed to Delhi, but it was still a 12-14 day pairing.
Crew planning (scheduling) couldn't build monthly blocks with these long pairings. They had to build 3-month blocks to make everything fit.

Hello Raven, nice to hear from you. Quite a long paring, imagine ya had to take extra skivvies, shirts and the like, big laundry day when you got home. Hard on the ole belly with different food types and on the head with time zones I suppose. Bet you could tell a few cockpit stories and layover antics but being the old guard - your lips are sealed. The Raven wrote: ↑Wed Dec 22, 2021 8:21 am Not that I want to make this an " back in my day" thread...but "back in my day", when I was a youngun', we did 14 day pairings to India and Singapore.
