Re: Health Tax in Greece
Interesting.
I've been to Greece twice this year (once in Sept and once in Nov). It is indeed true that you can't go anywhere without vaccine proof. You can't even buy a coffee without being asked to show it. What was really annoying was that we showed our enhanced Ontario Vaccine Passport that shows the name, date of birth, type of vaccine and the dates of the 1st and 2nd dose.
The Greeks, at various eating establishments and hotels, tried to scan that using their EU QR code app and of course our vaccine would be "invalid" because the QR code was not recognized by their app. (There is an Ontario made up app to read the QR code, "Verify Ontario", but obviously they didn't have it...)
Anyway, none of them would accept it and eventually we had to use the original paper that showed just the text. That seemed to have worked, but every establishment was hesitant as to its authenticity. One guy told me "Sorry, I can't let you in. If the police comes, I'll get a 5000 Euro fine".
We even went to a police station in the little town we stayed in to maybe get a written letter saying our vaccine papers are authentic. The police officer saw them said "Oh they're fine...They should let you in", so they didn't give us anything and were left again trying to argue with every place we went to eat, drink or sleep.
It was really frustrating. Governments need to work together to allow for an internationally recognized vaccine passport. Clearly the crap we have here is not working very well abroad.

Went to Florida recently. Did not have to wear a mask for 8 days. Went into hundreds of businesses and restaurants and was not asked for my obedience papers once. The local news didn’t play Covid fear porn 24/7. It was nice to be there and forget this nightmare.

Wouldn't that be nice?
After Canadians have done their part and social distanced, wore masks, got vaccinated, voluntarily scaled down or even closed their businesses we are going into the 3rd year of this pandemic with more restrictions and hardships for the common citizen. I'm getting really sick of this sh*t. I've done everything they told me to do... and more.
I'm not holding my breath though. Leave it to our politicians to screw everything up and panic at the smallest roadblock. It's not as if this new variant comes as a shock.

Texas has been pretty good with this as well, as has most of the South.Inverted2 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 17, 2021 9:26 am Went to Florida recently. Did not have to wear a mask for 8 days. Lol.. enough said.
Florida is like that uncle everyone has who went to the “school of hard knocks” and who’s net worth consists almost entirely of his Xbox and the empties in the back of the truck he’s two payments behind on.
Basically, a living, breathing example of what not to do with your life.

You didn’t tell the whole truth. ….. the same uncle when company is around, picked his nose, belches, farts and scratches his balls and last time he had a shower when he fell into the ditch full of water coming back to his basement apt from a bender at the Legion‘Bob’ wrote: ↑Sat Dec 18, 2021 7:46 pmLol.. enough said.

On December 17, 2021 Florida had 13.3 new covid cases per 100,000 people. On the same day, Canada had 23.4.‘Bob’ wrote: ↑Sat Dec 18, 2021 7:46 pmLol.. enough said.

By the way, now everyone has completely forgotten about covid, and other news is on the agenda of the world media. I think it will be possible to travel freely in the summer, regardless of which country you are from and which vaccine you are vaccinated with. Many countries have suffered too seriously due to the lack of tourists. Too many companies are counting losses, and it can't go on like this anymore. My friend is the owner of the hotel, and now he has to raise the salary of employees because of the rise in the price of everything in the world. The salary calculation application helped calculate the optimal salary level for employees and him, but he will not last long without tourists.
