Carson Air
Carson’s been posting ads for medevac capt/fo about every two weeks for the last couple months. Any ideas why they can’t find people? Would’ve thought that’s a decent gig
Re: Carson Air
You would think with their recent purchase by "the Borg" that they would get rid of their ridiculous bond and actually offer a decent salary but no.
Re: Carson Air
What is the bond? Doesn't say in the ads. And do you know the pay ranges?
Re: Carson Air
It was 18 K for a Metro First Officer bond about 5 years ago.
Re: Carson Air
I believe year 2 FO pay is 50k something so I imagine year 1 is mid/high 40s. As far as king air fo wages in Canada go, that’s some of the better pay I’ve heard of but a two year bond for that much is pretty wild. I don’t know the captain numbers but would be interested if anyone has them.

I was gunna say I remember pre covid there was no bond for the metro at perimeter…kinda greasy to put one in place now.
Re: Carson Air
Yea the bond was pretty high but it was to force people to stay. Back in 2011-2015 I think it was a 24 month $30k ish bond for a metro type rating and the bond would have to be paid out in full if you left any time during the 2 year period. I know a few guys who left early and tried to weasel their way out of the bond but KC had decent lawyers and would always take em to court and get his money. I think there were previous posts on this forum about some of those court stories and how the pilot was unsuccessful as that bond is pretty water tight. I don't think the training even costed $30k back then but that's what was signed in the agreement. Also FO pay was like $22k to live in YYC during the oil boom when rent prices were the highest in the country so it wasn't the best of operators to be at as a pilot. The one upside is you can build a fair amount of multi turboprop time with a decently quick upgrade and those who did stick it out for a couple years all made it to AC/WJ/TS/Flair. I'm not too sure if things have changed much in recent years

Re: Carson Air
Interesting, this is the first time I’ve ever heard of a metro bond at Perimeter. I don’t know a single metro pilot here that signed a bond, myself included.MrAviator19 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 19, 2021 3:09 pmNot what I was told 2 days ago when I interviewed with the CP…Turboprops wrote: ↑Sun Dec 19, 2021 2:55 pmIncorrect, no bond required on the metro at PerimeterMrAviator19 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 19, 2021 2:52 pm

I know Bearskin has a bond (2 year 10k i believe), but not Perimeter
Re: Carson Air
Not saying I’m in favour of bonds but last time I ran the costs on initial Metro training the company was on the hook for $34k per pilot. Curiously it was about the same for the sim as it was on-wing.

Things can change. Like how Bearskin merged with Perimeter 3 years ago…Turboprops wrote: ↑Sun Dec 19, 2021 4:18 pmInteresting, this is the first time I’ve ever heard of a metro bond at Perimeter. Well, as of 3 days ago, it's 2-year $12K on the Dash and 1-year $6K on the Metro.Turboprops wrote: ↑Mon Dec 20, 2021 4:33 am Ya i know, but my friend had his interview in October, where they said no bond at perimeter and 2 year bond at bearskin.
