Anyone have any idea what base and types will be up for grabs. Not being picky...just looking for a hint of a heads up as to where I'm gonna live. Thanks in advance.

This stuff changes every day. You don't know for sure until the second day of GS.

YHZ is definately out - it is a declining base. Right now there are alot of guys in HZ commuting to YZ or UL. I haven't heard of YYC for a while. You can always commute though. We can now commute before our six month date.

You are giving passes to travel between your base and where you live ONLY. It's really that simple

You can only commute from where you live and YYZ for the first 6 months. If your base is not YYZ, then you won't have passes to commute. And you get no other travel privileges for the first 6 months.

does my wife stay on the pass to come and see me between yyyyy and yyz?
Just curious, I woudn't want to miss work, and get kicked out!!!

So once again , are the pass between home and YYZ valid for me only or the wife too???

doesn' t mater if she is late for work!!!

Cheers Brothers,

No, the passes are only good for you, and only to commute for work, no other reason...

And I would not recommend missing work during the first 6 months...

Hope this helps!!

I was talking about missing work because of commuting...

You have sick leave, like in any other place here too... if you want to use it.

Guys during the interview I was told we'd be on probation for a year. How come you guys are talking about 6 months? Also if we are allowed to commute, how come we are asked to move to YYZ?

There is no reason for you to move to YYZ. They only require that you are YYZ based, or where ever you pick for your base.

You're on probation for a year, but you get to have travel privileges after 6 months.

And no, I imagine you do not have to move to YYZ... but you will have to commute, and pilots with more senority than you will always pass before you... it'll be up to you to be in time in YYZ to do your flight. If you get an early morning flight, you'll have to fly in the day before. Accomodations are not paid by Jazz while commuting.

Anyway, that's up to you. I know there are crash pads available in YYZ for commuting pilots, but I cannot give you any more info on those. I am not based out of YYZ.
