A charming quiet giant, a monument to another age of aviation. I hope it can live on with pride....

Indeed, would be nice to get some pole time on that charming beast. I am endorsed on Ole PBY-5A and CL-215, got operational experience of former but not on latter(ferry flight purpose only). Hope it finds a decent new home and doesn’t end up as derelict in some forgotten place as that would be areal shame.PilotDAR wrote: ↑Mon Jan 17, 2022 8:04 am The CBC is telling us that the Mars is up for sale:

Re: Mars up for sale
So, beyond a lot of TBAs and a wikipedia copied entry on the Mars, the thing that stood out was the mention that it hasn't flown since 2016 and hasn't had an annual since then. Must be why the asking price is so high, they're expecting some pricey snags.

I thought the same thing about the planet... at that price, I'll take 2.imjustlurking wrote: ↑Mon Jan 17, 2022 10:03 am At first I thought you were talking about this...

But it also could have been this:
I'm going to knock this up a notch with my spice weasle. Bam!

The plane hasn't flown since 2016, just getting it back in the air will cost a fortune,

Sadly, I think that the next flight that she makes will be her last - under a ferry permit to a museum.
Everything has an end, except a sausage, which has two!

I was fortunate to see it fly in 2016. What a magnificent beast!
