C-GOWG, a Sunwing Airlines Inc. B737-800, was operating as flight SWG609 from Gregorio
Luperón Intl - Puerto Plata (MDPP) to MacDonald-Cartier Intl - Ottawa (CYOW). During the initial
climb, after passing through 10,000ft, a physical altercation broke out between two passengers.
The in-charge flight attendant informed the flight crew and of the need to return to MDPP. The
cabin was secured for landing. The flight crew declared a PAN PAN, the aircraft returned to MDPP.
The passengers involved in the altercation were removed by police. There were no injuries, minor
damage occurred to one window shade and one seat back.
