It’s already a flight attendant base, so your rumour is not wrong.

What would the benefit be to opening a new base in YYC that would provide a greater positive than the financial cost it would require?

At some point it becomes a worthwhile recruitment tool, especially since a YYC base would align with Jazz and other airlines who have employees already living there.

If you’re referring to the information leaked in the investor presentation, I think it would be a long way off before it actually happens.

That’s exactly what I was referring to. May be some day in the near future!

Just curious, how many pilots do you estimate commute out of YYC at AC? I posted before that it's gotta be the biggest commuting base in the network.

There is no YYC pilot base coming. Nor is there any pilot base coming for YHZ, YOW, or YEG.

The route map shown in the investor day presentation just showed that we currently fly to LHR and FRA from YYC (I don't even know if that's year round). It also showed the US and Canadian destinations from YYC, and a lot of those are Jazz.

No projected new international flying from YYC, however possibly using the A321 XLR on some domestic or US routes.

Free advice. :D Don't base any career decisions on the fact that you think there's going to be a pilot base in YYC (ask someone who's been commuting from there for 20 plus years). Live and commute from there if it works for you (hundreds of our pilots choose to commute from YYC and other non-pilot bases).

There's no truth to this rumour, as far as I know.

Mid Continent hub does not mean flight crew base. I doubt it will happen it's easy enough to operate or DH pilots into and out of YYC.

All a hub means is in reference to a "hub and spoke" style airline operation where they have flights originate and return to YYC for the sake of people connecting. Want to fly from YXE-LHR, YZF-LAS or YLW-YUL you can all connect through YYC.

I specified flight crew not cabin crew... We also have a YWG base that will probably live for a while because of the potential costs of closing a base/moving pilots.
