Electric DG or Garmin G5 instead ?

Post by tazin river »

Would any of you know where to get an electric DG for our Cessna 180 that would not cost as much as the G5? I have already installed a G5 to replace the vacuum HSI (AH).

Mechanical gyro's are rapidly becoming obsolete as electronic instruments take over the market place. I think you will find their value will start dropping and repair becoming harder to access. Price wise they seem to be close and the electric gyro may actually be more as an outright purchase not an overhaul exchange.
