The Covid money printer slowly ends, now we pay.
Big shout out to the covidians and your boy JT for their inflationary policies.
Here is a lesson for anyone who thinks socialism is about empathy. The affluent were the beneficiaries of pandemic policy. White collar work from home. People who owned homes and made huge gains on asset value.
Young people on the other hand, if you don’t own a home you got fucked royally. Young people were also the ones who either took layoffs because lower seniority, or they were the ones who work the type of jobs where you can’t work from home like retail. Funny thing is these same people had zero to gain from any pandemic policy. They had near zero risk to the disease, they vaccines do nothing for them.
Is it any wonder young people are flocking to the conservatives? So now what? The best thing for the young would be a crash. We need to see a little collapse, some pensions fail, make the ones who benefit the most sweat a little. Don’t count on it. Big spender JT has the backs of the home owner, as soon as we see it coming JT going to make sure he spends the young peoples future away with more money printer.
On behalf of young people, just want to thank the covidians for encouraging this and voting JT. If you are a home owner and run into a renter be sure to thank the renter for the sacrifices they made for your gains!
Can’t help but think everyone here who was pro mask, pro lockdown were all just a bunch of older or retired pilots who cheered this on as their home values spiked. If you were young and a renter and were cheering this on well then you must just be an idiot, and you would have to be an idiot to vote for politicians who sell you out like this. You know who they are, the ones that mock freedoms and call it Freedumbs. They do this because they want you to feel like having freedom makes you have no empathy. Meanwhile they want to gain at your expense. If you are a young voter, think about how the past couple years went down!
Does this all sound familiar, where the old eat their young. Does it also remind you of the union you are part of? No wonder so many unions are also in shambles as they run their operations like a mini JT cult.

There's so much wrong with your post it's hard to know where to start. High house prices were caused by low interest rates, and aren't part of inflation. The inflation we have is caused by a number of factors such as supply chain issues and Ukraine war. Higher interest rates will likely help housing prices to come down, but it will be tricky to reduce inflation.

Re: The Covid money printer slowly ends, now we pay.
I don’t see what was wrong about my post. JT printed money and spent billions, Fact. BOC dropped rates in 2020, Fact. The biggest beneficiary of these policies was those who own assets, Fact.CpnCrunch wrote: ↑Mon May 23, 2022 6:06 am There's so much wrong with your post it's hard to know where to start. Now covidians looking to deflect the problem onto other things. It wasn’t pandemic policy that got us here right? It’s Russia!
Yeah it will be tricky to reduce inflation! Obviously Canada is a small piece of the pie and the global problem is not all on JT. Collectively the global money printer is responsible. China, Biden, JT they are all responsible.
I just think young people need to watch this play out and learn a big lesson. That is that JT was not on their side. JT continues his spending, still doing Covid testing at airports. He is blowing all our taxes even when food is getting expensive, especially for young people with lower incomes, no assets, increasing rents. If government would just @#$! off an do nothing the majority would be better off.
Covidians can try to defend this garbage all they want. We are beginning to see the consequences of poor governance and policies. Feel that burn sink in. Now those same people who encourage this crap all begin to remove their masks lol. “Oh I guess it was just a cold basically, let’s get back to normal guys!”
Covid was the most expensive theatre ticket the government purchased on my behalf. Thanks JT!

Bank of Canada is independent from the government, and current inflation has zero to do with the "printed money".WellThatAgedWell wrote: ↑Mon May 23, 2022 6:53 am

Re: The Covid money printer slowly ends, now we pay.
I believe his point was that JT always says he looks out for Canadians and will put money in Canadian pockets. This is sooooooooooo far from the reality of what is happening its not even funny. I'm the biggest basher of JT and the libtards, can't FUC@ING stand them. But at the beginning of the pandemic I did agree with what was being done to attempt to keep the economy going, but than there was no plan put together other than flood the economy with printed money. As things progressed, there is STILL no stopping them in sight.CpnCrunch wrote: ↑Mon May 23, 2022 6:06 am There's so much wrong with your post it's hard to know where to start. I always say when people defend this dipshit, if you ran your house the way the government runs and spends money, how long till the collectors are banging on your door. Its funny that, that little saying always makes people think for a minute and realize how bad it is.
As for inflation, we went through the 2008 recession really well. Money was printed, and money was stopped. There was a road map to get out of it in a good position which worked well. Here we are 2 years after Covid has started, and there is still no road map for an exit and stop the bleeding. In fact with this pact the NDP signed with the Libs, we are in such a dire situation now it is not even funny. JT will continue to push his agenda and use the pandemic to get it done. ALL our kids are fucked.
Re: The Covid money printer slowly ends, now we pay.
That's certainly true, but it's not causing the current inflation. It will just cause problems paying off the debt when interest rates rise.flyinhigh wrote: ↑Mon May 23, 2022 7:02 am

If you want to blame someone blame the tories for not having anyone remotely electable in the last 2 elections.

That was the king of deflection if I have ever seen one. CpnCrunch could write the scripts for JT. “Inflation is not my fault, it’s the conservatives fault as they are not nearly as handsome and can’t win an election”.
What’s the saying?
If You Are Not a Liberal at 25, You Have No Heart. If You Are Not a Conservative at 35 You Have No Brain
Young liberal voters got duped while being told they have no heart.

Re: The Covid money printer slowly ends, now we pay.
I blame the easily duped voters.
They have been duped to believe voting conservative for anyone, means you're automatically a screaming misogynist racist pig.
It's amazing Canadians put up with being labelled like that.
Re: The Covid money printer slowly ends, now we pay.
Except that's not what happened this time, is it? We had a conservative candidate who lied about his own (gun) policy, then admitted he lied and changed that policy just before the election. Most Canadians don't really care much about that policy, but they don't really like a liar who then flipflops one of his main policies. Perhaps there were other reasons people didn't vote for him. It certainly wasn't because they were duped. Were conservative voters duped by a liar? Yes, I'm sure the liberals have lied, and I"m sure you can provide examples. I don't really give a shit as I'm not a supporter of any party (unlike you...)rookiepilot wrote: ↑Mon May 23, 2022 10:29 am

I think you don't have a brain if you vote for either party by reflex. Both parties have policies that our society is fundamentally based on (market economy, human rights, justice, etc). It doesn't make sense to choose half of those policies at the expense of the others, and yet that is what the parties sort of force us to do: piss on the economy by voting liberal, or piss on human rights by voting conservative. If you do either you're an idiot. And if you vote NDP you're an idiot too, as they are just liberal. And if you vote green you're an idiot as they support arbitrary confiscation of property based on where you were born, and closing of airfields. So, who did you vote for?If You Are Not a Liberal at 25, You Have No Heart. If You Are Not a Conservative at 35 You Have No Brain

You’re right. He was a weak and waffling leader as candidate. Didn’t like that myself.CpnCrunch wrote: ↑Mon May 23, 2022 1:12 pmExcept that's not what happened this time, is it? Of course, any conservative candidate who sticks to his (her) guns is immediately blasted by the media for being inflexible, not consulting or listening to Canadians (according to the same media, in their sole — Liberal Funded — judgement).
Who’d be nuts enough to go into politics and take that abuse? And there is the problem. The media is so witch hunt national enquirer type abusive, a lot of good people won’t run.
Could you imagine though the coverage a conservative candidate who ran for PM and then being revealed he wore blackface?
Admit it. Two standards…..

If you voted for that idiot I hope you smile next time you gas up your car or your grocery cart full of food costs you $250. We aren’t alone. They are facing the same problem south of the border with that poor old dementia patient who “legitimately” defeated the evil orange man.

Another thread complaining about a liberal government, consisting of:
- insulting liberal voters
- out of context quoted soundbites
- assuming everyone is either 100% liberal or 100% conservative
How about someone takes the time to actually explain the conservative's plan to change things. Or even your own realistic suggestions?

As an AvCanada discussion grows longer:
-the probability of 'entitlement' being mentioned, approaches 1
-one will be accused of using bad airmanship

Re: The Covid money printer slowly ends, now we pay.
Well, when the media is getting paid by the incumbent Liberals, they may not give you the most unbiased view of the opposition candidates. Scheer came across as a bit of a nerd, but his policies were good and appealed to people who looked at practical issues. Trudeau came across as the popular kid in school and appealed to people who wanted to be entertained.
Re: The Covid money printer slowly ends, now we pay.
I don’t think there is any plan that gets us out of this mess for a generation. The only thing that solves this is the collapse that always comes with money printing hyperinflation teaches the next generation not to get sucked into the socialist economic hole. That is best case scenario. Worst case scenario; the communists manage to form a Neo-USSR in the west and it takes several generations to get rectified.digits_ wrote: ↑Mon May 23, 2022 6:23 pm Another thread complaining about a liberal government, consisting of:

People don’t change as he claims — thats what the media always says about the right.
Takes some nerve to then accuse everyone — he meant “everyone” who protested with the truckers of being a racist. Takes cojones, Give him that.

Re: The Covid money printer slowly ends, now we pay.
Is any credit due to the pandemic response? What can Canadians agree was good policy?
CERB?
BOC dropping rates?
Doug ford bracelet that beeps when you get close to people for 2.5 million dollars that was never produced?
B.C. Covid Glory holes (however not recommended for Monkeypox)
CovidAlert App that has not proven to stop any Covid spread?
The insane amount of PCR testing (hundreds of thousands of tests per day across Canada at its peak, at about 30 bucks per test)?
“Free” rapid test kits being handed out?
Closing small businesses, then forcing big businesses to close certain aisles or not sell certain items to appease the small businesses you previously closed?
The decisions of what was essential or not essential arbitrarily decided by policy makers?
Vaccine mandates?
Vaccine certificates?
Vaccines in general, their efficacy, and the message around them?
JT ordering 9 vaccines for every Canadian?
Pulling the emergency act out on those who disagree with most of the policies above?
What do you rank the pandemic response? Many posted there would be consequences to these actions while many others scoffed and said these policies were necessary. I just feel bad for where Canada is today. I see an egregious use of power, a complete disaster for the scientific and medical community and a country caught divided because of a complete miss management of the last two years. What a shame, and now we pay.
