Yes, YPL can be a challenging place to live. As for North Star though, they are a great company. The owners are top notch. Lots of flying in the summer and you're treated well by all involved. I would rate the pay as industry average, not high but not low either.

From what I've heard it's not a bad place to hang your hat! I've had a couple of friends who've worked there... and they both had great things to say about the company.
