Slocan Lake is like no other. It's low altitude and low latitude makes it one of the few in Canada that remain free of ice all year round.

Unlike most neighboring lakes in British Columbia it is not controlled by upstream dams and being the headwater lake of the water shed there is no industry above. You can drink the water without it being treated. The lake is fed by mountain creeks that have their source in the Valhalla wilderness park and the Kokanee glacier park. It is the deepest and cleanest lake around.

Almost half of the lake is bounded by Valhalla Wilderness Park. Most of the remainder of the lake is steep and difficult to develop. As a consequence the lake is extraordinarily quiet and can only remain so.

This retreat property is one of a very few that was private property before the formation of the park. Of the few private properties even fewer have sandy beaches. As well this property shoulders the park beside and behind.

There is 220 feet of beach frontage to the east and south. There is over 600 feet of property line bordering the park to the south and west.
