you know I always thought that a Commercial Pilot would make enough to live on.....but I'm really starting to think that this commercial piloting thing wasn't the best thing for me....as I like to stay in the city, which really leaves me with Instructing...don't get me wrong...I would love to be an instructor....and I would be really happy if i could get 40k out of it within 5 years of instructing...but hearing the wages from instructors that is next to impossible..even CFIs don't make 40k......so I think its better for me to do sth else....thats decent and continue on with my passion part-time or something...atleast I get to fly.....

I'm currently working in sales & marketing with the Investors Group, which is the largest financial services firm in Canada. Although its not such a bad position and the people I work with are great, my heart is in aviation and only God knows how much my heart is crying to get back doing what I love so much...FLYING!!

With all the applications and follow ups I've sent out, I'm sure something will come up soon enough. As my family always tells me, KEEP THE FAITH AND DON'T GIVE UP.

haha... sorry guys, I'll try to be more thorough next time :)

I'd be curious to know the situation of those that selected the last option. Are these guys that are "working" for a company and not being paid, or they have their own airplane, or they've just bought block time.......

And to those flying seasonal by choice, that's awesome, I want your job! :)

You can have mine.

I made myself a promise I would retire at 70, and I just made an appointment to renew my license for another six months only because I really can't get out of two last commitments.

I want nothing more than to have my e-mail and phone never again ask me to leave home to fly or fix airplanes for anyone.

So hopefully this will be my last six months.

The hardest thing about flying is knowing when to say no

After over a half a century of flying no one ever died because of my decision not to fly.

So, if I work seasonally, but collect a cheque from my employer year-round, then how does that work?
