• Conair 802 fuel starvation?

I heard through the moccasin telegraph that an Conair 802 operating in AB. was forced down because of fuel starvation.
Any particulars on this incident would be appreciated.

True story. Happened outside Whitecourt. Landed in a farmers field no damage only to the pilots pride and wallet I imagine. Working fires all day and cut it too fine.

If the pilot managed to find a nice,soft farmer's field around Whitecourt...well...that was one lucky pilot! I've had the (mis)fortune of spending a lot of time in the HWY 43 corridor, and swamp spruce/moose are a lot more common than round bales/cows!

Don't forget - the horseflies in that country are hazardous enough too. Hopefully he didn't get chunks ripped out of himself when he got out!

No worries about that pilot's skin just yet, Flybabe. I'm in Valleyview right now (200km NW from Whitecourt), and no bugs just yet. Still too cold at night, which has me very happy, seeing as I'm spending 12-14 hour days working outdoors!

Been there lots, w2 - know the country well (worked for forestry, timber cruising up there one summer and have been THROUGH there too). don't get eaten alive this summer!

Ksnsas corn??? Feed it to the pigs. No self respecting Albertian would let anything but TABER corn past their lips.
