Don't worry, they ordered 2 brand new 777Fs with that paycut. Nothing says swindled like your company pivoting under your feet to capture flying you didn't want on paycuts you wished the union didn't take.

Why not read the accident report and get back to us. Total time would not have helped with improper SOP compliance.‘Bob’ wrote: ↑Tue Aug 02, 2022 7:13 pm Just because they met the 1500 hour requirements when they met their demise didn’t mean they did when they started on with Colgan after not gaining the skills of… you know… pushing forward in a stall. Something that anyone who’s flown a heavily loaded underpowered light aircraft for several hundred hours knows to do.

Kind of weird that you would use an example of a USA 3000 hour captain and 2000 hour fo as an example as to why a Canadian 1500 hour pic with a 250 hour fo would be unsafe.
As an AvCanada discussion grows longer:
-the probability of 'entitlement' being mentioned, approaches 1
-one will be accused of using bad airmanship

Skilled and very qualified Pilots and AME’s alike are letting their feet do their talking, doesn’t matter they know it’s cheaper to endorse low time guys and hope they’re not audited by TC or their insurance providers, let alone rolling the dice on no accidents. Canadas aviation business truly is still the Wild West, it’s sickening.MrWings wrote: ↑Tue Aug 02, 2022 12:11 pm^THIS!Bug_Stomper_01 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 02, 2022 9:42 am No shortage of pilots, there’s a shortage that will work for what’s being offered
There are some highly skilled pilots out there that can do the job. They are being offered ridiculously low wages to live in an expensive market. Surprise, they are not taking the job.
Then employers complain about a pilot shortage. SMH
