Brokeback Mountain

Post by North Shore »

From the number of threads on here that end up with a pic or allusion to the movie, I'm thinking that many have seen it? Or not?

As part of my yearly project to see as many of the big-category Oscar winners as possible, I want to... but my wife is a little hesitant because of the hassles involed in taking a 3 month old to a movie, and it's not exactly the movie that you ask a buddy to come along to...

There is probably a sum that could induce me to go see it, somehow dont think it is too likely that anyone wants to pay.

Great movie..great acting...a sad story really. :smt023

Only had to turn my head away once from a scene about 30 minutes into the movie. :?

The wife liked it too. ( this sentence was for all you good ole boys with limited brain juice wondering if I'm 'Bruce' and not the fact that maybe love comes in all different shapes and sizes. )

Best to take your wife along to the movie, you'll be safe then.

Naw, really,.. it is decent flic inspite of being a tragic love story, the baby (your son) should sleep through it though.

Haven't seen it yet...and I'm not sure that I want too. I'm not really into love stories (no matter what the sex of the leading roles)

It's a little known fact that Elton John came out in song long before he held a press conference before it.

I'm sure you guys know the tune I'm talking about...

I wonder if the directors picked Alberta as the location for brokeback because:

a) high number of faggots

b) high number of sheep

c) plenty of earl - the lube variety that is

probably a combo would be my guess..

Umm, nope. It's still playing to packed houses from the big cities to the small ones, from New York to Nebraska. That ain't all gay folk. (You should use past tense, by the way. It's been out since December 9th and has earned $166 million worldwide.)

But if you point out the glaring flaws in her logic, it makes her less entertaining...
